Whether your ideal trip away is a cosmopolitan city break or a relaxing beach get away, there are plenty of destinations across the world that offer sun all year round. 

How about Marrakesh in October for a trip to the desert, breath-taking architecture and a spot of souk shopping? Or if you’re longing for some winter sun at Christmas and New Year, Goa offers 10 hours of sunshine a day and an amazing blend of Indian and European culture and cuisine. Perhaps romance, luxury and relaxation is what you’re after in which case a Valentine’s getaway to one of the islands in the Maldives is the stuff dreams are made of… and more.  

Tropical weather can be fickle, so take time to research your dream destination to work out the best time of year to visit. You want to leave the dreary, wet weather at home and avoid arriving on your much-anticipated holiday during the height of the hurricane or wet season.   

If you’re yearning for sunnier climes, here’s all the inspiration you need on where in the world to go next and the ideal time to go.  We’ve selected 12 amazing sunny hotspots, one for each month of the year. Of course there are oodles more, but up first are these 12 sizzlers where the average temperatures are upwards of a delicious 26 ˚C.

JANUARY 

MEXICO…for marine magnificence
